Test Manager (f/m) 80-100%


As Test Manager for the Paid Media Core domain, you are responsible for quality assurance and test automation. 

Our department, Paid Media & Distribution, is responsible for the development and stable operation of the IT Stack that underpins Tamedia’s paid digital service offerings.  The marketing and monetization of products in the digital realm are key to our business and the successful applicant will be familiar with these concepts. You are part of an agile team inside IT, which collaborates closely with Developers, Product Owners and other business stakeholders. You will need to work with on-site and remote teams. Also you are part of the development process and responsible to deliver the required quality assurance for existing and new features. 

You will join an agile team within IT that closely collaborates with Developers and Application Managers.  The successful applicant will also feel comfortable working with Product Owners and other Business stakeholders as part of their duties in the Test Manager role.

Your responsibilities:

  • Analyse business and functional Product Requirements 
  • Plan test strategies in accordance with project scope and delivery dates  
  • Identify and implement corresponding test cases and automation tests based on these 
  • Product Requirements  in different environments  
  • Define processes and strategies associated with Testing & Automation  
  • Actively communicate with teams regarding overall status of testing efforts  
  • Debug test cases and report errors 
  • Liaise with Development team to resolve open issues  
  • Bug Reporting & Tracking  Research, recommend and implement tools in line with departmental goals  regarding the upscaling of our Automation capabilities  
  • Use tools for parallel test execution and cross browser and devices testing such as: 
    • Selenium Webdriver   
    • Rest Assured         
    • Test Frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, BDD, Cucumber …)         
    • JS Testing tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, Webdriver, Nightwatch) 
    • Cross browser online testing services (LambdaTest, Browserstack, Saucelabs )
  • Configure CICD server for test processes (Jenkins, CircleCI)  
  •  Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule

Your profile:

  • Min 3 years experience with testing software applications and systems 
  • Experience with agile product development (SCRUM) 
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes 
  • Solid understanding of programming, design and debugging skills 
  • Experience with SDLC Management and documentation tools (JIRA, Confluence,  Test Management tools …) 
  • Experience in writing test plans and test cases 
  • Understanding Test Requirements 
  • Work efficiently with minimal supervision 
  • Excellent technical communication skills - documentation, presentations and conference calls. 
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus 
  • ISTQB or other Testing certificate is a plus 
  • Happy to travel between our HQ in Zürich and  our satellite offices around Europe (Engineering Center in Belgrade)
